Mark and Louise got married at Falcon Manor in Settle on beautiful, if a bit windy summers day. Louise grew up in this gorgeous market town which is nestled in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounded by stunning scenery. The pair got married at the same village church as Louise’s parents had and lots of the locals turned up to watch the beautiful bride arrive in a green Land rover with her dad.

I had first met Louise at a wedding fair and she liked my work because of the rustic and rural style. The countryside around Settle was very important to Louise and she wanted to make sure it featured in her wedding photography.

I love the Yorkshire Dales, the greenery, openness and the dry stone walls all provide a perfect backdrop for a wedding photographer. Mark and Louise had their pre wedding shoot on the limstone hills just above Settle which you can see here. Falcon Manor, which is run by the fabulous James Places is a stunning North Yorkshire wedding venue nestled in the pretty market town of Settle. It has just been totally refurbished and is a beautiful contemporary Yorkshire Dales country house hotel, a perfect location for a wedding.

I met the girls on the wedding day morning for some photos at Louise’s family home where everyone was very excied. After an hour with the girls I headed up the road to Falcon Manor to get some pictures of the boys having a pint in the bar to calm the nerves and in the gardens. Then it was time to head back to photograph Louise getting in her wedding dress before heading off to the pretty village to Langcliffe to get maried. Louise’s parents had also got married in this pretty Yorkshire Dales village church and it was a perfect setting for a wedding, even the locals came out to see the beautiful bride arrive. After a lovely ceremony the gates to the church were locked in a Yorkshire good luck tradition. The pair had to throw 2p’s over the gate for the local children to collect before the gates were unlocked. After a few photographs in the church grounds we attempted to head up to the limestone hills for some photographs of the pair but it was just far far to windy so we decided instead to head back to Falcon Manor for photographs in the grounds and the wedding breakfast.

After the meal there were some very funny speeches and lots of laughter before the cake cutting and first dance and the party starting. I really enjoyed Mark and Louise’s wedding at Falcon Manor. It is such a nice setting to get married and a photographers dream and I am lucky enough to have a few more weddings booked in here next year so I cannot wait to be back. If you have liked this selection of Falcon Manor wedding photography and are getting married here or maybe somewhere else in the Yorkshire Dales (or anywhere else of course!) please get in touch here as I would love to hear from you.
