I am lucky that my job as a WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER takes me to some great local venues but also all over the country to some really pretty places. I love a good road trip and a chance to explore new places so when Lucy booked me for her wedding at Pentre Mawr in Wales I was excited to stick the tunes on in the car and head down the motorway to this pretty welsh wedding venue.
Lucy had booked me after seeing my work at the National Wedding Show in Manchester and had excitedly told me all about her plans and all about this pretty welsh venue, and as I arrived on a sunny day, with the Welsh flag flying and was greeted by a shetland pony and a sheepdog I knew it would be a good day.
Pentre Mawr is a country house which is sat in 200 acres of beautiful park land and has been in the same family for 400 years. Its current owners Graham and Bre are two of the nicest people you could meet and genuinely want you to have the best wedding day ever. They have made Pentre Mawr a great wedding venue and have also added some african safari lodges in the grounds for guests to enjoy.
I met up with the girls who were getting ready in the little cottage and everyone was very giggly and the fizz was flowing. After the girls were ready I headed outside into the walled garden to photograph the guests arriving for the ceremony and of course the groom and his groomsmen.
Lucy beamed as she made her way down the aisle and a lovely ceremony followed which left the bridesmaids in tears! Once the pair had said I do and were officially Mr and Mrs they enjoyed a few drinks with their guests in the garden before I whisked them off for a few photographs in the stunning grounds.
It was soon time to head to the marquee for the wedding breakfast and as guests made their way around the farm to take their seats, Bre had a little surprise lined up for the bride and groom. She arrived in a little carriage pulled by one of the farms shetland ponies and took the pair on a ride around the country lanes nearby.
I had a great time at this wedding. Although I work locally as a Lancashire wedding photographer I am luck enough that my job takes me all over the UK to some gorgeous places to photograph couples weddings. I hope you have enjoyed this selection of Pentre Mawr wedding photography. If you are getting married here yourself please please do get in touch here as I would love to chat and photograph your wedding day too as I cannot wait to be back at this special place soon.
