As a Lancashire wedding photographer I am really lucky as I get to work in a county full of beautiful places and stunning countryside. From the stunning villages of the Ribble Valley, the pretty seaside towns and beaches, the green fields and quiet country lanes all providing a great back drop for your engagement shoot.

Gareth and Victoria chose a place very close to my heart for their engagement shoot, a walk around Greenbooth reservoir and the Naden Valley nestled in the hills in the village of Norden in Rochdale where I live.  Most evenings you will find me walking around the reservoir which is beautiful at anytime of the year. Gareth grew up in Norden and spend many an hour walking his dog on the pathways around the reservoir and it is also where he asked Victoria the all important question…will you marry me. I had first met Victoria at a wedding fair in Manchester where she liked my work but said it was when she got home andstarted looking at my website and found out that I lived just around the corner from Gareth’s parents she decided it was definitely meant to be!

I met Gareth and Victoria and their very lovely and energetic dog early one Sunday morning and with wellies on we headed for the upper reservoir. We spent a lovely hour wandering round, chatting about their big day and getting the pair some nice and relaxed photographs ahead of their wedding day, we even managed to persuade the dog to pose for a few!

The pair get married this weekend and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding day. They are getting married at their church in the village of Walmsely in Bury before heading to the Dunkenhalgh hotel in Accrington for their wedding breakfast.  Lets hope this sunny spell continues for them.

I do love it when couples choose to have an engagement shoot before their wedding day, not only do we get to have a good gossip about their day, as a wedding photographer I think it helps the couple feel at ease on the day and know what to expect when I whisk them away for their couples shoot. If you are getting married In Lancashire and are still looking to book your photographer take a look at some of the other pre wedding shoots in my galleries and please get in touch to find out more as I would love to hear from you.
